This month

I luckily didn't have many things to do this month, and almost caught up (?) Which is pretty surprising considering how much I procrastinate and surf the web, but I was able to learn up to 5 dances in one month, whoo go me. But a lot of that was probably from the motivation I received from my friends since they were working hard to complete their posts. Not sponsored, but check out their blogs at the bottom of this page :)

Some Tips for Starters

I am almost at the end of this quest, and from dancing for a year there are a few things I have learnt , no matter how small these tips may be I personally felt a change in the way I danced; not enough to say I substantially improved through these tips, but it was noticeable let's say.

✧・゚: *✧Sahej's Tips on Dancing✧*:・゚✧

1. Energy!!

I cannot emphasize this enough! Dancing can improve by so much if you just put energy into it! You may think it's lame to put in effort or energy into things, like all of generation x does, but putting in just a bit more energy can go a long way, so try it!

2. Get all the small movements in!

Just making sure that you are clean, and able to get every single of the moves in makes the dance look a lot better. Do it as many times as you have to and as slow as you need to, but make sure you are clean when dancing. (By clean I mean with your dance moves, but hygiene is important too, so do both :)).

3. Look in the mirror while you dance!

To be honest when I started out I was not bothered to dance in front of a mirror because I knew that what I would see was not what I wanted to, and I ended up just ignoring myself... But while I was recording my videos I kind of needed to look at myself, and I saw how many small changes I could make to make my dance better. The same is said from even professional dancers, so don't shy from the mirror!

4. Make your movements strong and powerful!

Just going through the full range of motion will make your dance look so much bigger and better. Rather than shying away to move your arms in a small circle make the circle bigger! Also, be powerful! When you see ballerinas they have huge muscles, and I mean huge because good dance does require power, so make sure you put strength into every movement.

5. Dance as though nobody is watching

Now I know this is super cliche or whatever, but if you really pretend as though nobody is watching you will mirror your emotions into your dance and face. When I showed my dance to one of my friends she said I looked as though I hated dancing, and I realized I was too focused on making my moves look good that my face looked like it was in pain.

6. Dance in your own style

After watching countless dancing videos I realized even professionals have so many different ways of dancing from each other when dancing to the same choreography. That comes from discovering which way of dancing is unique to you, and even though I'm still trying to find it I know it will help me improve.

7. Just have fun (・ω・)

Some Deep Thoughts

Even though I'm almost on schedule and everything seems to be going good how do I know if I'm actually improving? Or if I'm just wasting my time learning a series of random steps for no purpose? Did I learn anything of value this whole year?

Few Dances I Learnt

My Version of them (◕ ω ◕)

(Even though I gave so many tips I don't think I followed any of them in these videos, so don't be like me!)
